Gratitude Found

Today, I obviously needed a wake-up call. And God delivered one.I've been a little bit grumbly hateful rather than humbly grateful. (Anyone else in Back at the Creekbank as a kiddo?)

Woke up super early.
Took car to the dealer for repairs.
Spent money.
Call from dealer with another repair.
Spent more money.
Stayed home with sick child.
Missed work.
Stared at gray icky day through the window.

I was allowing these things to just 'roll on by' rather than obsess over them... which is a huge victory for me. However, I was pretty quickly allowing my day to disintegrate into a series of disappointments and frustrations.

And then...

A friend on Facebook shared this...

The Dreaded Diagnosis

Four. Years. Old.

Attitude adjusted. Heart broken. Perspective gained. Gratitude found.

Will you join me in praying for Ben and his family?

  1. Oh, I wonder which Ben...we know so many. Scared. Praying.
I wrote about attitude adjustment today, too.
We had three cars break down in one day. One stranded in the driveway, one at the doctor's office, and one at Safeway. Yeah. Good times. Over drew the checking account because asthma drugs and math don't mix. 361 emails behind.
None of that matters. Now off to find which Ben...

    1. Whew! Long day for you, huh? Wow. I'll go hop on over to read about your attitude adjustment. Ben isn't anyone I know personally, but his mom's words really hit me hard.

  2. Went and left a comment. The more I think about it, the more the tears come to my eyes. I can't even begin to comprehend. His mom is so strong. I've sat staring at my keyboard for several minutes. Now I'm going to go hug my kids. Wonderful post. Found and following your blog from Life is Good.

  3. Without going to the link, which I'm sure is heartbreaking, it doesn't mean your problems are any less important. It does give us perspective but make sure you take care of you.
