Five-minute Friday: CROWD

Today, I spent the better part of the day in a crowded room for a work-related event. Crowds are interesting things, aren't they? They can envelop, enfold, and encourage us or make us feel more alone than we have ever felt.

Less than thirty minutes into this group meeting I was ready to cry.

Not tears of aloneness.

Tears of happiness because my own thoughts and experiences were being validated by others.

I knew I was not alone.

As I go through my life, I want to be part of building community connections. I don't want others to feel alone in a crowd because I did not take a few moments to step outside my own insecurities in order to let someone else know they are valued.
Five Minute Friday

A smile for the harried cashier.
A nod to the student in the hallway.
A word of encouragement during a workout.

Stopping to pick out the individual within the crowd.

  1. I think those small little interactions are the true test of our faith. Every stranger could be Him! Keep overcoming...you are never alone! ;)
